Ritratti. Collezione Florence e Damien Bachelot

(FR) Un voyage à travers la photographie qui raconte l'humanité à travers le portrait : tel est le cœur de l'exposition « RITRATTI. Collezione Florence e Damien Bachelot » (PORTRAITS. Collection Florence et Damien Bachelot), qui se tiendra au Musée national du Risorgimento italien du 10 juillet au 5 octobre 2025, sous le commissariat de Tiziana Bonomo. Environ 90 photographies originales provenant de l'une des plus importantes collections privées d'Europe, conservée à Paris par Florence et Damien Bachelot, seront exposées. Un parcours visuel qui traverse le XXe siècle jusqu'à nos jours, explorant le genre du portrait bien avant l'ère des selfies et des réseaux sociaux. Les œuvres, signées par de grands maîtres tels que Lewis Hine, Dorothea Lange, Nan Goldin, Saul Leiter, Elliott Erwitt et William Klein, racontent l'histoire de personnages célèbres et inconnus, à travers quatre sections thématiques : Actualité, Mythes, Société et Émotions. Parmi les chefs-d'œuvre, on trouve la photo iconique de Picasso à la corrida de Brian Blake, la poignante « Femme et enfant sur le lit » de Bruce Davidson, l'intimité suspendue de Lanesville (1958) de Saul Leiter, choisie comme image phare de l'exposition et couverture du prestigieux livre/catalogue qui accompagne l'exposition.

(EN) A journey through photography that tells the story of humanity through portraiture: this is the focus of the exhibition “RITRATTI. Collezione Florence e Damien Bachelot” (PORTRAITS. Florence and Damien Bachelot Collection), which will be held at the National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento from July 10 to October 5, 2025, curated by Tiziana Bonomo. Around 90 original photographs from one of Europe's most important private collections, held in Paris by Florence and Damien Bachelot, will be on display. A visual journey through the 20th century to the present day, exploring the genre of portraiture long before the era of selfies and social media. The works, by great masters such as Lewis Hine, Dorothea Lange, Nan Goldin, Saul Leiter, Elliott Erwitt, and William Klein, tell the stories of famous and unknown figures through four thematic sections: News, Myths, Society, and Emotions. Among the masterpieces are Brian Blake's iconic photo of Picasso at the bullfight, Bruce Davidson's poignant “Woman and Child on Bed,” and the suspended intimacy of Saul Leiter's Lanesville (1958), chosen as the exhibition's flagship image and cover of the prestigious book/catalog accompanying the exhibition.
